Excel apps for small business · built once, sold to many
Every app here started as one business's request. It gets built once, then licensed to every other business with the same problem — which is the only reason the price can stay low. No subscriptions, no bespoke invoices, no waiting on a developer's calendar.
How it works
The loop that keeps prices down: a request gets voted up, it's built once as a real reusable app, buyers try it free, then pay to keep it — and the listing stays open for the next business with the same problem.
Post the problem you want solved — a specific one, from your own business.
Other businesses with the same problem vote it up. Votes decide what gets built next.
Once it's built, download it and use the real thing before paying anything.
Pay to keep it — one license per business. The listing stays open for the next buyer.
Two apps, already live
One for landlords billing tenants by meter reading, progressive tariff bands and all. One for camping grounds, RV parks, mooring operators and short-term rentals, generating an invoice the moment a guest checks out.
Catalog
Every finished app, ready to try free and license when you're ready. New listings come from the request board.
Tenant & meter tracking, progressive tariff bands, monthly readings, one-click invoice generation, paid/pending status per tenant.
Camping, RV, mooring & short-term rentals — log a stay, pick the unit and extras, get a finished invoice the moment the guest checks out.
Live · first app on the marketplace
Built for landlords and property managers billing tenants by water or utility meter. Add tenants once, log a monthly reading, and it works out each invoice on a progressive tariff — no re-typing formulas, no per-tenant setup.
Live · newest app on the marketplace
For campgrounds, RV parks, mooring/marina operators, and short-term apartment or room rentals — anyone billing guests per stay instead of per month. Log each stay, pick the unit and any extras, and get a finished invoice the moment the guest checks out.
Request board
Post the problem you want solved. Other businesses vote on what's worth building — the app that gets made stays reusable for everyone who needs the same thing.
Be the first — post the spreadsheet problem you'd pay to have solved.
About
XcelBuilds is one person, not a company — which is exactly why the "build once, license to many" model exists in the first place.
I'm Dutch, currently living in Colombia. My career started out in engineering, working on projects in different parts of the world. These days I'm home more, and I've picked programming back up — it was actually there at the very start of my career, before the rest of it took over, and now it's back to filling my time.
The first app on this marketplace exists because I needed it myself. I manage rental properties, and I was tracking tenants, meter readings, and progressive tariffs by hand — so I built a spreadsheet to do it properly. Once it worked, it was obvious that other landlords and small businesses run into the exact same kind of narrow, specific problem, and none of them can really justify paying a developer to build something from scratch just for them.
That's the idea behind XcelBuilds: build a real, working app once, for one business's actual problem, then let every other business with the same problem license that same build. It keeps the price honest, and it means the tool stays in use instead of sitting in one company's private folder.
That first app came from my own problem, but I only have so many of those. So that same idea is now turned outward, onto the request board: instead of me guessing what to build next, other business owners post their own version of that problem, other people vote on what's worth building, and I build the next app the same way I built the first — for a real problem, once, for everyone who has it.

Every purchase runs through Gumroad, so that's also where your downloads, receipts, and license keys live — nothing separate to sign into here.
Check the confirmation email from your purchase, or sign into your Gumroad library directly.
Open Gumroad library →Download the app and use it fully — it isn't crippled or watermarked. It's licensed to your business once you buy it.
Yes, within reason — one license covers one business, not one machine. Sharing the file itself outside your business isn't covered.
You get a discount automatically applied — reach out with the email you used to submit the request.
